MetroWest
is a family-oriented, master planned golf community situated on 1800
acres in southwest Orlando. The concept of MetroWest was born over 20
years ago when a group of insightful developers outlined the vision
of a true urban village in which people could live comfortably, conduct
business, play championship golf, and admire an impeccably maintained
landscape, while still having the benefit of the most convenient location
in all of Central Florida.
What was once only
a vision is now a reality, manifested in the vibrant, thriving master-planned
community of Metrowest. Approximately 1200 acres in Metrowest are
either being developed or have been developed already with single
family homes, condos or commercial real estate. The remaining 600
acres are reserved for green space, including golf courses and landscaped
roadways.

Turkey Lake - Bill Frederick
Park
Turkey
Lake Park is conveniently located within Metrowest and hosts the annual
Fish Orlando!
event. In order to limit fishing pressure and maintain quality, boat
fishing is limited (outside of special events) to five boats, Thursday
- Sunday from 6:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The Citys boat concession
area also rents fishing poles and sells a limited selection of bait
and tackle. These loaner boats are the only way the public can legally
fish Turkey Lake from a watercraft.
Turkey
Lake Park offers camp sites, primitive cabins, a swimming pool, numerous
picnic pavilions and bathrooms, a kids playground area, a Frisbee golf
course and a mock-up of a Florida Cracker farm.
For boat loaner reservations call Turkey Lake Park at 407-299-1248.
For other Park questions call 407-299-5581. The history of Bill Frederick
Park at Turkey Lake goes back to the 1970's when it was a visionary
purchase during Mayor Carl Langford's administration. Fortunately, Mayor
Bill Frederick and Mayor Glenda Hood recognized the value of keeping
this recreational and ecological jewel maintained and sustained for
future generations. On January 24, 2004, the City of Orlando's largest
park was renamed in honor of Mayor Bill Frederick to Bill
Frederick Park at Turkey Lake.
